Soya-de-Guaymas iridologyThe ‘What is an Iridologist’ is pretty simple…simply a person that practices Iridology. So then, let’s look into just what Iridology is. Iridology is the science and practice that reveals inflammation, where the inflammation is located and how it is manifesting. Iridology is the science of analyzing the delicate structures of the iris of the eye. The iris is the colored portion of the eye. When it is magnified the iris becomes a world of minute detail telling the Iridologist what is going on in the body.

All this started back in the early 1800′s when a young lad by the name of Ignatz von Peczely, living near Budapest, caught an owl. The owl struggled and ended up with a broken leg. The lad observed a black stripe rising in the owl’s eye. von Peczely bandaged the leg and nursed the owl back to health. He released the bird but the owl chose to stay in the garden enabling von Peczely to continue to observe the owl’s eye. As the black stripe disappeared several white lines of various shades took its place. Eventually all that was left in the iris was a black dot where the stripe had been. This young lad grew up and became a physician. He was able to observe the irises of many patients after accidents preceding and following surgery. As he studied these irises he found that the changes coincided with surgery, injuries or illnesses. He was convinced that there was a reflex reaction between the various markings in the iris and the rest of the body.

The iris of the eye is the most complex tissue of the body. It is an extension of the brain and is endowed with hundreds of thousands of nerve endings, microscopic blood vessels, muscle and other tissues. The iris is connected to every organ and tissue of the body by way of the brain and nervous system. Both the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems are present.

Think of the iris as a miniature television screen showing the most remote portions of the body by way of nerve reflex responses. There two very separate things happening…Not only does the iris enable us to bring images of the outside world within allowing us to see, but the iris also shows images of what is within the body bringing that image to the outside world.

This science has been studied for the past 150 years and has been found to be extremely accurate. Today iridologists have a map of the iris topography which guides them very accurately over its surface. It is possible to see the entire body through the iris.

Each organ is identified with the primary organs outlined so that they are easily located. With today’s ability to project images from the eye onto the computer the patient can not only see what is going on in his/her body right away but is able to compare charts from one appointment to the next seeing what improvements have been made.

The chart observations gained from all the expense and the time spent gathering empirical data has given iridologists an extremely accurate map of the iris. When you go to the iridologist she/he will bring a picture of your iris up on the computer. A chart of the iris will be placed in front of you so you can see for yourself the areas in question.
